A FARM cottage booking agent ripped off his employer to the tune of £10,000 over a two year period.

Blackburn magistrates heard that Kenneth Moore boosted his own bank balance instead of paying payments into the company's accounts.

Moore, 63, of Lacey Court, Bury Road, Haslingden, pleaded guilty to fraudulent abuse of a position of trust by acting against the interests of Wendy Leeming, owner of Crimpton Farm Cottages. He was committed on bail to be sentenced at Preston Crown Court on September 24.

Andy Robinson, prosecuting, said Moore was self employed but worked extensively for the holiday cottage company. He was paid fees for maintaining the internet marketing and managing bookings.

"He was expected to take payments and pay them into the owners account," said Mr Robinson. "Over a two year period the money subject to the card was not paid into that account but into accounts held by him."
