PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson has welcomed news that Lancashire County Council will be installing four on-street electric vehicle charging points in his constituency.
They will be in Manchester Road, Nelson, Church Street, Colne, Frank Street Barnoldswick, and Victoria Street, Earby.
The new points are a partnership between the county council and BP Chargemaster, who will be responsible for their installation and management.
It is anticipated the charge points will be operational by March 31 next year.
Use of the charge point network will require users to sign up to the Polar Network and will be subject to charges.
Mr Stephenson said; “We want the UK to be a world leader when it comes to the number of electric cars on our roads.
"Crucial to encouraging the take-up of these cars across the country is increasing people’s access to charging points."
