A NEIGHBOUR dispute over loud music ended with one woman spitting in another’s face.

Blackburn magistrates heard Karen Lynch was only a visitor at one of the flats but took it upon herself to get involved in the dispute.

Lynch, 50, of Dean Road, Helmshore, pleaded guilty to assaulting Charlotte Grime.

She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £50 compensation.

Lynch must also pay £85 prosecution costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Andy Robinson, prosecuting, said Miss Grime was disturbed by loud music and banging from the flat upstairs at 3am but didn’t make a complaint.

“When the music started again at 3pm she thought that was unacceptable and shouted upstairs,” said Mr Robinson.

“Shortly after the defendant came banging on her door and there was a confrontation.”

Mr Robinson said Lynch deliberately cleared her throat and then spat in the other woman’s face. She spat at her again and this time it landed on her leg.

Waseem Chowdhary, defending, said his client accepted that in the course of a verbal dispute she spat on the aggrieved.
