AN Italian deli and pizza takeaway has opened its doors.
Brothers Jacob John, 20, and Dexter John, 26, who run Serrano's Deli Pizza, have opened a second takeaway after the launch of their first in Padiham in September.
Dexter, who ran his own Italian restaurant in Spain for seven years, and Jacob have taken over the old Burnley Express offices.
They will be using an authentic wood-fired pizza oven and have designed their takeaway in a Mediterranean style using Spanish imported wood.
Jacob, who lives in Harle Syke and formerly worked as a trainee chef at fine dining restaurant Northcote in Langho, said: "At the moment I'm nervous. I spoke to my brother before and we're both nervous and excited at the same time to see how people in Burnley will react to us.
"In Padiham it's taken off and people love it. The business has gone from strength to strength thanks to a loyal set of customers and the tight-knit community.
"Both of us are from Burnley and Padiham and we just look at them as our towns."
Eight new jobs are expected to be created including front of counter staff and pizza chefs.
