HUNDREDS turned out to enjoy the revived Waterfoot Wakes yesterday.
The weekend festival aimed to give a modern twist the annual holiday highlight of post-Industrial Revolution northern towns.
Saturday's parade was headlined by Cacophany Arkestra, a fantastical carnival band combining Calypso, jazz and Afrobeat
They are pictured outside the Duke of Buccleugh pub while member Ruth Orrell shows off her handmade hat .
Young and old came to the event, based round The Boo, The Old Library Café and the town's Co-op.
Cosmo Turner, aged six, was clearly having a great time in his multi-coloured wig while clog dancers Carole Miller and Anne Dixon take a well-earned rest.
