A 29-YEAR-OLD man died after he was hit by a train.
Emergency services including the police and ambulance were called to railway tracks near Robinson Lane in Brierfield after they received reports that a man had been hit by a train.
The man, from Burnley, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to the tracks near Robinson Lane, Brierfield, at 3.59pm on Thursday after a report of a person being struck by a train.
"Colleagues from the ambulance service attended, however, a 29-year-old man, from Burnley, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
A spokesperson for the ambulance service also confirmed that they had been called to the scene and that nobody was taken to hospital.
