ENGLAND fans have been urged to 'be responsible' for tonight's World Cup semi-final.
Police have asked people to drink responsibly tonight and not to be anti-social following the match between the historic match between England and Croatia.
It comes after officers received more than 3000 calls last Saturday, when England played Sweden in the quarter finals of the competition. They received 44 per cent more 101 calls on Saturday than last New Year's Eve, a police spokesman said.
A police spokesman said: "We've got everything crossed for England-Croatia.
"We had 44 per cent more 101 calls on Saturday than we did on New Year's Eve so please be responsible tonight.
"Don't be anti-social and help us by only calling 999 in an emergency and reporting non-emergencies online if possible."
