A CONSERVATION group is looking for volunteers to help remove weeds.
Ribble Rivers Trust will be hosting volunteers to extract Himalayan Balsam, an invasive non-native species which is harmful to rivers and native wildlife.
The weed grows rapidly and spreads quickly, smothering other vegetation as it goes. The group will be holding a series of volunteer days to control the species.
A spokesman said: "Come and help us remove the plants and try and stop the spread of this destructive invasive species."
Some sessions will be held in East Lancashire at the end of the month. It will be held at Raven's Clough Wood, near Brierfield on Tuesday, July 24 from 10am to 12.30pm.
Anyone can came along and help the Rivers Trust.
