A TRUST is spending £300,000 refurbishing the gyms at two leisure centres.

The new equipment will include the very latest Technogym range and offering access to its ‘my wellness’ app allowing members to track their activity in the gym and out and about.

The work at the Hyndburn and Mercer Hall leisure centres will start next month and be finished in early September.

New apparatus includes Olympic Half Racks, Skill Mill CONNECT, large free weights areas and Technogym’s cardio EXCITE range, including treadmills, varios and stair climbers.

The investment is being made by the Hyndburn Leisure Trust.

Lyndsey Sims, its chief executive, said “Earlier this year we carried out an in depth consultation with our members, ex members and also people who don’t use the gym. We asked them how we could improve the gyms."
