LIVEWIRE Festival due to be held in Blackpool over the August bank holiday weekend has been postponed.
A spokesperson for Livewire confirmed that the decision was made due to the ill-health of key personnel at the local promoter, Manchester-based Livewire Events Ltd.
American R&B superstars Boyz II Men were due to headline on Thursday, August 23 and global superstar Mariah Carey was scheduled to make her only UK appearance on Friday, August 24.
The festival had already suffered a blow earlier this year when country music legend Kenny Rogers had to cancel a Saturday night headline slot due to illness.
Discussions are currently underway with some of the artists’ representatives to determine whether they will take part in Livewire 2019.
Ticket holders can seek a refund from point of purchase.
