THOUSANDS of people enjoyed sunny skies and a host of family friendly entertainment at a town carnival.
Families lined the streets for Oswaldtwistle Carnival on Sunday to watch the procession, before making their way to Whiteash and Foxhill Playing Fields to see what was on offer.
The theme for the event was 'through the decades' and organisers said they were pleased with the success of the event, which attracted between 12,000 and 15,000 people.
On offer was a fairground, an inflatable assault course, a dog pageant, pony rides, crazy golf, live music, stalls and games.
Gayle Knight, from the organising committee, said: "It went really, really well.
"We were blessed with some great weather."
"There was a lot of fun things going on for the whole family.
"It was just a really relaxing and great day.
"It was a fantastic community event, it's great for the area, there was so many people around, lots of families enjoying themselves.
"The fact it was on the same day as the England game probably helped, it spread the crowds across the day."
Organisers also said they planned for 12 months to ensure everything was in order for the event, which takes place every two years.
