JOBS could be under threat as one of a borough’s biggest car dealership is to close.

Blackburn Motor Park, which deals with Fiat, Volvo, Alfa Romeo and Renault cars will close on Tuesday, June 26 with customers having to travel to either Bolton or Preston to get their cars serviced.

The site, on Pendle Street in Copy Nook, is the biggest of its type in the borough and one of several owned by its parent company Cambria Autos.

Customers were notified by letter this week about it closure, which stated that customers would get free collection and delivery, a free courtesy car and a discount on all manufacturer servicing at its sister garages across the north west.

Customer Tony Lay, who lives in Accrington was angry at the decision as he has a motability Alfa Romeo and will now have to travel to Preston.

He said: "I'm really angry. I've been a loyal customer for the last two years but I won't be doing business with them again.

"They must have had a lot of customers and you'd have to think that people will lose their jobs because of this."

Neither Blackburn Motor Park or their parent company Cambria Autos responded when asked for comment.
