A NEW mental health facility is to open at the site of a former social club later this year.
Work is almost finished on plans from Pathways Northwest to convert the former social club on James Street in Oswaldtwistle into a facility providing care for women with mental health issues.
The site will feature two 10 bed, fully en-suite facilities to provide quality care to women aged 16 and over, with a primary diagnosis of personality disorder.
The group just awaiting the facility to be registered with the Care Quality Commission, which is expected to take several months.
Keith Owen, development manager for Pathways Northwest, said the facility should be open in November.
Mr Owen said: “It’s a big improvement for the area, it’s brand new.
“It’s all been knocked down and it’s been a year long build to get here.”
