A WOMAN who went to deliver flowers to a friend after drinking wine crashed her car on the way home.
Veronica Hargreaves, 56, of Thorncliffe Drive, Darwen, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified.
She was fined £220 with £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. She was banned from driving for 14 months.
The court heard police were called after Hargreaves collided with a parked car.
Graeme Parkinson, defending, said his client was not responsible for the crash. She was driving between parked cars when a taxi came towards her.
"She had to take evasive action and collided with a parked vehicle," said Mr Parkinson.
"My client stayed at the scene but the taxi driver drove off."
