A CRICKET club has had new gates installed to help combat anti-social behaviour.
Great Harwood Cricket Club has had the new gates installed thanks to funding from Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw’s Community Action Fund.
It also links into the aims of the fund in providing small grants to help groups tackle their local concerns and to help make communities a safer place.
Cllr Noordad Aziz and Cllr Bernadette Parkinson, who represent the area on Hyndburn Council, praised the move to install the gates and the benefits it would have for the club.
They also encouraged other community groups to apply if they have crime prevention projects they want to undertaken.
Cllr Aziz said: "The gates were installed to combat anti-social behaviour on the cricket club site.
"We are delighted with the Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner for helping a local club."
