THE Conservative pros-pective parliamentary candidate for Rossendale and Darwen has called for a zero- tolerance approach to underage drinking, following two alcohol-related murders.
Jake Berry believes underage drinking and yobish behaviour makes some places a no-go area over the school holidays.
He said the sight of underage drinkers on the street or in public places is absolutely unacceptable and we must start to challenge the popular drinking culture and get this message across.
Mr Berry's comments come after the recent murders of men in Cheshire and London who confronted yobs.
Mr Berry said: "Every young adult must behave responsibly and this includes not buying alco-hol for underage friends.
"I urge anyone who sees underage drinking and anti-social behaviour to immediately report it to the police.
"This is our community and we must all work together to tackle anti-social behaviour and ensure our public places remain safe."
