A 32-year-old man was found dead in a chair in his bedroom surrounded by empty packets of tablets which had not been prescribed to him.
An inquest has been opened into the death of Russell Hollins, an engineer, from Higher South Street, Darwen, who was found dead on Sunday evening.
A post-mortem examination has been carried out and further histology and toxicology tests are required.
