A soft-play area at a Leisure Centre is celebrating its first birthday with a special party on Friday.

It will offer cut-price admission and games, prizes, raffles, and crafts .

The four-storey play centre Adventure City in Church's Hyndburn Leisure Centre opened 12 months ago and has seen 70,000 visits since then,.

Converted from half a sports hall, it has separate areas for babies, toddlers and children up to 11-years-old.

On June 8 the Henry Street centre is reducing the entry price to £2.50 for the day and will have a special offer on pre-booked birthday parties.

Lyndsey Sims, chief executive of Hyndburn Leisure said, “Opening Adventure City was an exciting challenge for as it was a move away from our regular mainstream fitness and leisure offer.

" The management team and the board recognised a gap in the market for new large scale play facility in the Accrington area and we think Adventure City really compliments some of the other activities we provide at the centre such as swimming lessons and gymnastics courses.”

Joanne Mortimer, Head of Leisure Facilities said, “The hard work that went in to the facility has paid off, with over 70,000 visits since opening, with people travelling far and wide to visit Accrington’s biggest and best play facility.”
