MORE than 5,000 people turned out to the 30th Ribchester Spring Bank village market.

The sun beamed down on the village as market-goers visited the Ribchester Sports and Social Club and viewed the stalls outside Bee Mill.

Pople were able to walk around plant stalls, hand craft and toy stalls.

There was something for everyone as youngsters took part in face painting and rides.

Other attractions include vegan food, raised beds for gardens, a furniture store from around the world, and a salad plant stall.

Andrew Wallin, the market's organiser, said the turnout was one of the best he had seen.

He said: "It was absolutely stunning, it was amazing.

"The turn out was incredible, there must have been upwards of 5,000 people there.

"Cars were parked a mile or so down the road out of Ribchester, it was brilliant.

"The weather was definitely on our side.

"We had 80 stalls out and they provided lots for people to do.

"This is the 30th market in the town and the third one I have done, I'm glad it became a really great day.

"It was probably the best one yet, I do hope next year's can be even better."

The market raised £385.55 which will be donated to the Ribchester junior football teams.
