RIBCHESTER’S popular May market is set to return today (Monday).

The market will be outdoors at Bee Mill and indoor at the sports social club from 9am until late afternoon.

Activities during the day will include plant stalls, hand craft stalls and toy stalls.

Market goers can also sample meat stalls, chocolate stalls and a pizza stall.

Other attractions include vegan food, raised beds for gardens, a furniture store from around the world, and a salad plant stall.

There will also be fun for children including a wooden toy stall, face painting, rides and a body shop

Organiser Andrew Wallin said: “Last year we had about 60 stalls and it was a brilliant day with union jack flags up over the mill.”

“We have nearly 80 stalls now and it’s been going now for 30 years and lots of people know about it via word of mouth and friends and family.

“We’re expecting the weather to be warm with the best turnout, as last year was damp and cloudy and we only had a few thousand turn up.

“We have lots for the whole family.”

The market is now in its 30th year and to celebrate, it teamed up with the Ribchester sports social club to welcome the band ‘Daylight’ on Saturday night.

Andrew added: “Thanks to all the thousands of people who took the time to come to the Ribchester sports social club for the band Daylight.

“We hope you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you all at the market.”
