A CONVENIENCE store was told to "do the job properly" as councillors rejected its extension plans.
One Stop, Church Street, Colne, applied to Pendle Council to build a garage-type extension to replace a blue container used for storage.
But at the council's Colne and district Committee meeting, Councillor Howard Thomas said: "I can't help but think that what the owners are trying to do is get something on the cheap.
"The only reason to call it a garage is so that they can put up a prefabricated building for next to nothing.
"Although that's their back street it's also someone's front street so whatever is put there has to be something in keeping."
