HOMES could be knocked down to make way for five new executive houses.
Plans have been lodged with Blackburn with Darwen Council to build the new three-storey houses on Billinge End Road, Blackburn.
Eight homes would be knocked down to clear space for the new development.
Developers said they have had positive discussions with council officers, who welcomed the potential creation of five high quality family homes.
A statement said: “The existing dwellings are all early 20th century with no distinguished architectural merit in varying styles.
“The proposal intends to demolish the existing eight properties and construct five new three-storey five-bed dwellings and form new access from Billinge End Road for each property.
“The new design layout intends to create five spacious plots with generous floor areas.
"It will generate a rich street scape."
