A PUBLIC meeting is being held in Darwen tonight to discuss plans for the town's new leisure centre.
Residents and user groups can receive an update on the revised plans for a two-storey town centre site.
Blackburn with Darwen Council scrapped an earlier scheme for a split site and instead plan to add a sports hall and enhanced health suite on a second floor as part of a £12.7million facility.
Plans for a 25m swimming pool with a moveable floor, a teaching pool, a café, changing facilities and spectator seating remain the same.
The new centre is due to open in autumn 2009.
Coun Michael Law-Riding, executive member for leisure and culture, said: "We have listened to what people have told us they wanted - they told us they wanted a sports hall on the same site and a larger health suite.
"We have looked again at the scheme and have put together new plans.
"We are now going back to people with the details of the new enhanced leisure centre."
The meeting is at Darwen Library Theatre between 6 and 7pm.
