THIS photograph from the Lancashire Telegraph archive might ring a bell with some of our readers!
Taken in 1989, it shows the bellringers at Immanuel Church, Oswaldtwistle, at the end of a marathon ringing session to raise money for the church urban fund.
They were sponsored to ring a three-hour peel of the Kent Treble Bob Major - a major challenge for campanologists.
Conductor Gordon Whewell (from centre) is picture with Vic Wood, Jeff Roundell, Phillip Clare, Raymond Clayton, Frank Anderton, Jean Long, and Jean Barnes.
