SCOUTS from East Lancashire are preparing for their annual St George's Day Parade and Promise Ceremony.
More than 500 scouts and volunteer leaders from Burnley and Pendle are expected to meet in Towneley Park to take part in the parade.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Burnley, Cllr Howard Baker and Tracey Rhodes and Mayor and Mayoress of Pendle, Cllr David Whalley and Mrs Barbara Whalley will attend the ceremony along with Burnley MP Julie Cooper and Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson, who will take the salute with the District Commissioner as the parade passes by.
The Promise Ceremony will start from the car park opposite Unity College, in Towneley Homes, to Towneley Hall led by the District Commissioner, Nicholas Brown, on Sunday from 10am.
Deputy District Commissioner Howard Mitchell said: “As always, anyone who has previously been a Scout will be welcome to join us for this special occasion.”
