A MAN who was offered money to steal a food processor was stopped as he left the store.
Blackburn magistrates heard Lee Frank Tattersall had only gone into the store to buy a packet of biscuits.
Tattersall, 35, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to theft from Lidl. He was fined £40 with £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.
Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said when he was detained as he left the store Tattersall said he was desperate because he was homeless and had nothing.
Gareth Price, defending, said Tattersall went into the shop to buy a packet of biscuits.
"The man he was with said if he got the food processor he would give him half the money," said Mr Price.
