Rovers have been named as the EFL family club of the year.

The club won the award at the EFL awards ceremony in London and follows up being named as Championship family club of the year in 2016/17.

The award recognises clubs who have demonstrated outstanding delivery of activities to attract and retain family attendance on matchdays.

Rovers General Manager Lynsey Talbot said: “It’s massive for the club and for the staff. We’ve worked really hard to try and get to this level and we’re ecstatic –we just can’t believe this.

“To have three players up for awards, the family club, the community club, hopefully things are on the up for us.”

Of Rovers, the EFL said: “They have continually researched and improved their family experience, from their much-loved innovations such as the Strikers’ Lounge, with an emphasis on access and inclusion, to their Sensory Room where children on the autistic spectrum can enjoy the game in a reassuring, safe and protected environment.”
