A MAN in an 'emotional' state after discovering his ex had started a new relationship ended up being arrested.

Blackburn magistrates heard Paul James Mason had been ordered to leave the area of her home earlier in the evening but returned and was causing trouble.

Mason, 45, of Springbank Terrace, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to two charges of resisting a police officer. He was fined £80 with £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

Parveen Akhtar, prosecuting, said officers attended a report of a domestic in Brother Street for the second time. Mason was causing problems and refused to leave, inviting the officers to send him back to prison.

"When he was arrested he lashed out and struggled violently and had to be Parva sprayed," said Miss Akhtar.

Imran Hussain, defending, said Mason had found out that day that his ex had started a new relationship and had been very upset.
