CLUB bosses have been giving people a sneak peek behind the scenes as Blackburn's newest nightspot takes shape.

These pictures, posted on Facebook over the last two weeks, show renovation works at the former Liquid nightclub, now being rebranded as Switch.

The club's launch night is tonight and will feature performances from singer Karen Harding and DJ Jamie Duggan.

Urban group Platnum are appearing on Saturday and superstar rapper Lethal Bizzle is the headline act on Sunday.

Club promoters said on Facebook: "The main rain room is majorly taking shape. We have 16 builders working around the clock to get this beast of a nightclub finished."

Dubbed as 'The North West's newest and biggest nightclub,' Switch Blackburn is investing more than £250,000 in the former Liquid and Envy building on St Peter Street, Blackburn.

The venue has said it will offer 'state-of-the-art' clubbing, playing a variety of grime, hip hop, R&B, pop and dance music over three floors.

Switch Blackburn, owned by three local entrepreneurs, is the third venue in the chain to come to Lancashire, with clubs already operating in Preston and Poulton-le-Fylde.

They have played host to celebrities and performers such as Fuse ODG, Lethal Bizzle, Bugzy Malone and the Chuckle Brothers. The new outlet in Blackburn promises to bring special guests to the venue on a regular basis.

The building has been home to many nightclubs over the years, most recently to Nocturnal, which launched an opening and closed again within months.

Switch has also announced a strict dress-code for the venue, forbidding anyone wearing trainers, tracksuits, man bags and caps from entering the premises.
