PLANS to redevelop a community park have been given the go ahead to move onto the next stage.
Bosses at Ribble Valley Council received an update on the progress of work to improve Towneley Gardens, on Berry Lane, Longridge in Tuesday's community services committee meeting.
Longridge Community Partnership were granted approval to develop the gardens and bowling green back in January 2016.
Work has been carried out to regenerate the bandstand area, replace historic iron work, removed prior to World War II and
improve the biodiversity of the area.
A number of picnic benches have been purchased to be located on the central paved area and work is being carried out to install an arch at the entrance.
Notice boards have been also purchased and the organising group wish to locate these on the external wall of the Council’s toilet block.
