A DISGRUNTLED man ended up in the police cells after hearing that police would not take action against two men he claimed had assaulted him.

Burnley magistrates heard how Royston Brett, 35, called the police when he alleged he had been attacked by two men working for his landlord.

He was upset when told no action was being taken, became agitated and ended up in cells.

Brett, of Devonshire Road, Burnley, admitted breaching the peace and was bound over in the sum of £100, for 12 months.

David Hartley, prosecuting, said police went to Hebrew Square in Burnley. The defendant claimed he had been punched in the head. He was not injured.

Two men stated they were from CR Rentals and said nobody should be living at the property.

Royston had been asleep on the settee, a window was broken and the house was boarded up and in a poor condition.

He was given his belongings and told no further action would be taken.

The defendant then shouted, showed his fists and said he was going to cause problems.

Jasmine Basnyet, for Royston, said the defendant had gone to the flat to collect some things when he would say he was awoken by two men and assaulted.

He called police but got upset when they said no action would be taken over the alleged assault.

Miss Basnyet said: "He was upset and felt aggreived at police attention he received."
