A HOUSE raider spared jail by a judge is now behind bars after flouting the chance she gave him.
Burnley Crown Court heard how John Sparks, 29, had earlier been given a suspended jail term but landed back in the dock after getting involved in drug supply.
Sparks, then of Gordon Street, Bacup, admitted possessing amphetamine with intent to supply. Judge Beverley Lunt activated the 36 week prison term, which had been suspended for two years, and gave him 12 weeks on top for the drugs offence.
Sentencing, she told the defendant she had earlier been merciful with him, even though he had burgled the home of a friend and breached their trust.
Now, he had breached the order by holding drugs for somebody else, the court heard.
The judge went on : "You really do not co-operate and are incapable of co-operating with a community based sentence."
