AN expat is scaling the heights of Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for charity.
Kiara Tanner, 25, originally from Whitebirk, Blackburn, now lives in Herford, Germany with her soldier husband James, 23, originally from the Infirmary area of Blackburn.
She, along with two fellow army wives, Sam Chillcott, 27, and Gemma Horsham, 30, are training hard for a two-week trip next February, to raise money for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association.
They plan to raise thousands of pounds in sponsorship and have already collected £1,000 through activities at the army camp including a quiz night, tombola and 'military munchkins', where children of service men and women dress up as their parents.
Anybody wishing to sponsor Kiara should email her on kiarassafa@hotmail.com
