PLANS have been withdrawn to build 12 new homes.

A planning application to Pendle Council to build 12 homes in a residential area on land to the west of White Leys Close, Earby was set to be debated by West Craven’s committee on Wednesday.

The applicant withdrew the application because it had failed to produce a drainage report.

The scheme would have consisted of six semi-detached two storey dwellings in three blocks and six detached two storey dwellings.

Each would have their own on plot driveways and parking and access to the site would be directly off Earby Road.

Neighbours had sent five letters of objection because of concerns that the additional houses would put pressure on local services, including school and GP surgeries.

Cllr Mike Goulthorp, who represents the area, said: “It was withdrawn when they failed to produce a drainage report which is needed to complete a housing report.

“The first thing they have to convince the committee is that their plans for drainage, particularly surface water on the side, are adequate and will be able to deal with it.

“They also need to have proper affordable housing.

“I expect it to come back to committee in the near future.”
