WORK on a major bridge scheme in Blackburn will cause delays to town centre traffic starting tomorrow.
Lorries will be delivering steelwork for the Freckleton Street bridge project from Thursday, causing delays along the A666 Bolton Road.
The heavy goods vehicles will be parked up at the M65 junction four services and escorted to the bridge construction site as required.
Coun Alan Cottam, executive member for regeneration: "We are asking people to be patient during this disruption or look for an alternative route into the town centre.
"We are, however, delighted that a project of this size and importance is running according to timescale."
