SNOW has caused 'several crashes' as drivers lost control of their cars in icy conditions, police have said.
Rossendale Police have told drivers to drive with care following several road traffic incidents in snowfall on high ground on Burnley Road East up to the junction with Crown Point Road.
Officers said some vehicles had veered off the road because of the snow and ice.
The road was closed and gritted by council workers.
A police spokesman said: "The route is now open again but please drive with caution as the weather is still poor."
