HOLLIE Steel, who as a 10-year-old reached the final of Britain's Got Talent back in 2009, will play the lead in a new family production when it receives its world premiere at the Lowry, Salford Quays, this Christmas.
Now 19, she will star in The Extraordinary Tale of Holly Christmas, the story of a little girl who has never had the Christmas she dreams of.
Hollie was born in Burnley and lived in Huncoat when she appeared on the top TV talent show.
She made national headlines after breaking down in tears while singing Edelweiss rushing off stage to be comforted by her mum Nina. She then returned to sing the song flawlessly and ultimately finished sixth in the series, won by Susan Boyle.
Hollie is currently studying musical theatre in London.
The Extraordinary Tale of Holly Christmas runs from December 20 to 24 and December 27 to New Year's Eve. Details from the box office on 0843 208 6005
