A MAN was left fighting for his life after being stabbed at a house party.
Blackburn Magistrates Court heard victim Robert Townend suffered a lacerated liver, punctured lung and diaphragm during the incident at a house in Coal Clough Lane, Burnley on Sunday.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said he was in a critical condition in hospital.
A second man, Paul Chappell, was also assaulted at the party.
James Anthony Lynch, 31, of Scarborough Street, Manchester was sent in custody to Burnley Crown Court charged with wounding Robert Townend with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm and assaulting Paul Chappell causing him actual bodily harm.
A date for Lynch to appear at the higher court has yet to be set.
