PADIHAM is set to get its first micro-pub after plans were given the green light.
Burnley Council's development committee approved an application to transform a former art gallery in Burnley Road subject to conditions.
The plans were submitted by Andrew Turner who also owns a micro-pub in Colne.
It is thought it could create three full and five part time jobs with opening hours from 11.30am to 12.30am seven days a week.
A planning document states: "The proposal is of a modest, orderly scale that appears much more likely to complement and add beneficially to the mix of uses in the area, than to be in conflict.
A successful town centre needs vitality to make it economically and socially attractive. It is essential to encourage enterprising uses of initiative and to avoid vacant premises in principal locations.
The micro-pub is expected to open in the new year.
