PEOPLE are being invited to write a letter about life in the North West in 2017 as part of an art project.

Organised by artist Laura Jamieson, The Travelling Letter Exchange is a touring letter writing bureau which celebrates the art of letter writing. Everyone who writes one will receive a letter in return from another participant and a selection will be published in e-book form in early 2018.

Funded by the Arts Council, the bureau is a piece of furniture inspired by what author Jane Austen may used. The Travelling Letter Exchange will be at Blackburn Central Library, in Town Hall Street from Thursday to Monday.
