X FACTOR star Grace Davies made a special visit to her former primary school where she sang Amazing Grace with the school choir.

The 20-year-singer and former warehouse worker from Langho visited St Leonard's CE Primary School with the X Factor film crew and surprised pupils by joining in as they sang.

The Whalley Road school has thrown its weight behind Grace, who has made it through to the judges houses round of the ITV show.

Grace visited the school with a film crew and also stopped off at Blackburn landmarks including the Cathedral Quarter and Witton Park.

A spokeswoman for the school said the visit went really well.

She said: "The children were singing Amazing Grace to her and she took the opportunity to sing with them.

"They were so excited when she joined in.

"We decorated the school with flags and balloons and pictures of her when she was in school and in school productions.

"The whole school is behind her and wish her well. We are really hoping she will go all the way.

"There has been a real buzz around the school. I am speaking for the whole school when I say we are so proud and wish her continued success.

"It is nice to have someone do really well but not forget her roots.

"It must have been like a homecoming for her.

"She was so at ease when she was here and got to speak to lots of people."

Meanwhile Grace has been adding to speculation about her fate in the show after a preview clip for next week showed her in tears during the judges' houses round.

Taking to Twitter she said: "Judges' houses preview for next weekend just made me cry...again.

"It is going to be an incredibly hard episode to watch back."

Sabden singer Kelsey Gill has also made it through to the next stage as part of a new girl group.

The 20-year-old was initially turned down by judge Sharon Osbourne but was given a reprieve by Simon Cowell who has created a six-piece girl group.
