A 33-YEAR-OLD motorist who initially stopped after being followed by a police car sped off as an officer approached his car.
Blackburn magistrates heard that after a brief pursuit Faisal Shehzad Ul Haq turned into a fenced off area and he was arrested.

Ul Haq, 33, of Calder Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to failing to stop when required by a police officer and driving with excess alcohol. He was fined £120 with £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge and banned from driving for 12 months.
Ghaffer Khan, defending, said his client had been working as a takeaway delivery driver but was aware that job would no longer be available to him.
