A ROSSENDALE school has appointed a head of sixth form to oversee its day-to-day running.

Dawn Luszczak has taken on the role at Alder Grange’s Sixth Form ag6 alongside her position as PE teacher.

The former senior achievement leader for key stage four has worked at the school for seven years and was previously a pupil at Alder Grange School herself.

She said she was delighted to have been appointed to the role and hopes to continue to enhance pupil’s attainment and academic progress.

She said: “I’m honoured to have taken on the role. During the past seven years I have worked at Alder Grange I have seen the sixth form go from strength-to-strength and I’m thrilled to be able to play a part in its continued success.”

Ms Luszczak’s role involves monitoring the progress and attainment of pupils and the transition from school life to being in the £8million sixth form. She will also be involved in the pastoral care of pupils and help direct them on the path ways including apprenticeships and university.

Head of school Jo Griffiths said: “We are very pleased to have appointed Dawn in the position of head of sixth form. Dawn has a wealth of experience and enthusiasm. We are sure with her guidance the sixth form will continue to flourish.”
