A PENSIONER has denied ever sexually abusing a boy and a girl in the bathroom of a house.

David Forrest, who was accused of historic sex abuse, gave evidence in front a jury for the first time at Burnley Crown Court.

Forrest, of Rawsthorne Avenue, Edenfield, said he had 'no idea' where the allegations had come from and denied ever spending time with them alone.

The jury had earlier been told that the offences were alleged to have happened at a house in the Rossendale Valley.

Prosecuting, Francis McEntee, said during one incident the boy, who is now and adult, was allegedly taken into the bathroom by the 74-year-old after vomiting after eating a chicken and mushroom flavoured Pot Noodle he didn’t like.

When asked about that Forrest, said: "No. That didn't happen. We didn't have Pot Noodles in our house."

Mr McEntee had earlier told the jury of seven men and five women that it is the prosecution’s case that Forrest ‘manipulated situations’ and took the children to the bathroom when there was no real need to do so.

When asked about that he denied ever being alone in the bathroom with the complainants and said there was no reason for him to have done so.

When asked specifically by Mr McEntee, if he had abused either of the complainants, Forrest said: "No. Where they have got all this from, I don't know."

Forrest also denied ever saying to the female complainant that it was 'their little secret'.

In relation to the female complainant Forrest denies one count of indecency with a child and two counts of indecent assault.

With regards to the male complainant Forrest pleaded not guilty to two counts of indecency with a child and two counts of indecent assault on a male person.
