FACING the camera in this photograph from the Lancashire Telegraph archives are members of the Rawtenstall Fire Station team who were taking part in an It’s a Knockout competition at the Marl Pitts Sports Centre.
The competition was held in 1983 and the fire station team was competing against teams representing the police and ambulance services among others.
The fire station team was (back left to right) Jayne Clough, Jacqueline Turner and Jane McAvoy and (front left to right) John Lord, Chris Pilling and Nicholas Clough.
Teams had to compete over a series of obstacle challenges based on the hit TV series.
