A CHARITY in Accrington has been shortlisted for two regional awards at an annual award ceremony.
Advocacy Focus, which supports people with mental health and social care needs across Lancashire, is a finalist in the ‘Volunteer Manager of the Year’ and ‘Charity of the Year’ categories at the North West Charity Awards 2017.
Volunteer manager Lauren Lovelace was nominated for the award after implementing a new strategy which saw an 87.5 per cent increase in volunteers from the previous year.
She said: “I’m very pleased to be shortlisted at the awards.
“Volunteers are integral to our work at Advocacy Focus.”
Miss Lovelace also recently won a SELNET award for Excellence in Training and Mentoring.
The awards dinner and presentation ceremony will take place at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on October 11.
