FAMILIES have been offered advice to be active together as the summer break fast approaches.
NHS Blackburn with Darwen and East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) wants people to be active as a whole family this summer.
Health bosses have recommended that all children aged five and over should have at least one hour of physical activity a day.
Activities to try include: cycling, walking, building a den, kite flying and a trip to the beach.
One hour of exercise helps children grow stronger muscles and bones, maintain a healthy weight and build their confidence.
One hour a day can also easily be incorporated into family life and can be a great away to spend time together.
