A HUNCOAT councillor has said he will ensure the site where a dog was slashed by a piece of class is cleared up.
Cllr Eamonn Higgins went down to the bottom field near Huncoat railway line where seven-year-old boxer Bella cut her pad on a piece of glass, resulting in her needing surgery.
She was being walked at the time by owner Richard Carrington, who was also with his child.
Cllr Higgins said the problem was caused by the length of the grass and he will work to the area cleared up.
He said: “It was because of the length of the grass, you wouldn’t have been able to see it at all.
“We’ll be getting it cleared up as soon as possible, and hopefully with new funding the grass should be cut also.”
