A CAR blaze which happened in the early hours of Saturday is being treated as suspicious.

The fire started in one car and spread to a second in the incident which happened in Countess Street, Accrington.

Firefighters said the cars were destroyed by the incident which is being investigated.

A spokesman said two crews were called at around 1.30am and were there for around an hour.

He said: "Crews used two hose reels to put out the blaze.

"The cause is being treated as suspicious and an investigation is now in progress by the police and fire service.

"If you saw anything suspicious around the Countess Street area or have any information please contact the police on 101 or contact crime stoppers."
