FOUR men arrested in connection with the One Connect police inquiry into Lancashire County Council contracts have been bailed until Monday, June 19.
They are believed to be the authority’s leader designate Geoff Driver, its ex-chief executive Phil Halsall, David McElhinney, who was chief executive of the now defunct One Connect, and Ged Fitzgerald, current Liverpool City Council and former LCC chief executive.
County Cllr Driver is due to be installed as leader of the authority tomorrow.
A police spokesman said: “All four men have been bailed until June 19.”
The election to the county council, which took place at the start of the month, saw the Conservatives gain back control of the authority from Labour.
In the aftermath, Cllr Jenny Mein, who has been the council leader, resigned as Labour leader, a move which prompted an internal election for her replacement.
The new cabinet is also set to be revealed tomorrow.
